[It wouldn’t be Minimus if he wasn’t calculating the best time to move past just holding hangs or even hugging. And the latter is a grey area that he would rather not define.]
There is a difference from knowing what I want and finding the motivation in the moment. And what I want is- [He makes a tired face.] You can guess by now, but I am seriously not sure how to best approach this.
[Where’s the romantic lighting? Where’s the halo of light?]
It’s not exactly a natural progression from sitting together and discussing the news.
Well, why not just ask what he finds romantic? Or tell him? Plan a nice night and see how you feel. Get in the mood. I know spontaneity isn't your thing, but I think trying to nail down the perfect moment like some kind of sappy vid is just going to make you stressed out.
[ She sighs. ]
You can even ask him before the date if he's comfortable getting a kiss some point that night and then you can have a little of column A, little of column B!
He enjoys poetry. [That's not shameful to admit. They share the hobby.] We already have talks in our habsuites, but it doesn't progress beyond...well, there isn't much progress.
[There has to be something they can do far from prying eyes, but the idea of asking him out flatly to make out will kill him of embarrassment.]
The only other special location where we can meet is Maccadam's, but the mood there isn't inherently romantic. Without any scheduled events, there's a limit to date activities... [He eyes the karaoke machine for a long time. Would he dare sing in front of everyone?]
It sounds like one of you is gonna have to take the initiative if you do want it to get a little more physical, Minimus.
[ God why is she giving this guy love advice? It feels surreal. ]
Have you considered like... I dunno mag-clamp stargazing? That's always pretty relaxing. And solitary, too.
[ She scratches at her chin. ]
It's a weird situation since we're all stuck onboard this ship together, but... you'll figure something out. You're both smart mechs who know what they want.
[Is that a hint of embarrassment on his face at the mention of physical intimacy? Surely he can't be so repressed that even mentioning it gets him flustered.]
Stargazing is inherently romantic. That can work with a decent guidebook on constellations. [It gives him something to talk about other than what he exactly wants. Avoiding feelings is easy.] Then we can...see if there is some sort of physical desire there. All I must do is to act on it.
[Sounds more like he's psyching himself up for it than planning a date.]
[ Anode takes a breath and lets it out, then leans forward. ]
I'm getting the feeling the desire for Megatron to take you in a suitably robust fashion is there, you're just too nervous to say anything. Am I wrong?
[Minimus wishes dying of extreme humiliation was plausible. It would be better than facing Anode's assessment and either denying it (which she will quickly realize is untrue and hound him for it) or affirming it (terrible now he has to live with this knowledge). Soundwave might be overhearing. Everyone will know how much Minimus wants Megatron to whisk him off his feet and act out a trashy romance novel.
So he leans forward to stare at the table and hum nervously.]
[Minimus prays to whatever god is nearby that Soundwave doesn’t alway record videos and gives Anode the slightest of nods. He then promptly passes out- no, he is just slumping backward and dissociating from this horrible, blatantly personal admission.]
[ It's kind of adorable, watching this. Not the mech she expected it from, but maybe she should have. There's a faint laugh behind her hand before she can still the urge. ]

I mean, every couple is different? It depends on what you're both comfortable with. If you're sure, it doesn't hurt to just ask, right?
[ She reaches over the table after a moment's hesitation, pats Minimus' shoulder. ]
You're overthinking this, Minimus.

You can just nod or shake your head if you want.

Just tell him that, Minimus.
